At Aleena Health, our mission is to provide high-quality healthcare services to our patients.
We strive to make our patients feel comfortable and cared for during every visit.
Our history
Amanda Emerson, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC started Aleena in 2023 because she was frustrated with the current medical model, both as a patient and as a provider. Since she first started practicing as a nurse in 2007, healthcare has always been more about "care" and providing it to the best of her ability. However, as she progressed into the role of nurse practitioner working in physician offices, she has increasingly felt rushed with her patients to fulfill a numerical quota that was more about someone else's bottom line than providing good care. She maintains that care should be patient-focused and inclusive, and the current models and commercial insurance seem to support share-holders over patients.
Amanda pursued an Autonomous Nurse Practitioner License in the state of Florida so that she could open her own practice and set her own patient schedule, allowing her to take the time needed to provide better care and support to patients. Through Aleena, Amanda feels her patients receive the best individualized healthcare, patience, and understanding.
Our team
Amanda Emerson, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Amanda Emerson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner, degree magna cum laude at University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. She also holds undergraduate degrees in nursing from Eastern Florida State College and psychology from Florida Institute of Technology.
Amanda began her nursing career in 2005 and has since worked in urgent care, trauma, neurology, pain management, corrections, outpatient surgery, pediatrics, and internal/ geriatric primary care medicine. In addition to owning Aleena, she works part-time in urgent care, and she is an instructor and adjunct professor in the Doctor of Nursing program in University of Central Florida's Graduate College of Nursing.
Amanda is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology. She has earned certifications in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, critical care, trauma, hormone replacement therapy, emergency management, and clinical research. Her doctoral project at the University of Central Florida focused on asthma education and prevention of asthma emergencies in the schools of underserved communities.
Amanda enjoys writing in her spare time. She has two boys who also share her hobbies of reading and playing board games, sometimes in exotic places.
About Our Location
Carabella Wellness and Spa
Carabella is a beautiful facility in Melbourne, FL with multiple offices for independent health and wellness providers who provide medical, esthetitian, and massage services. There is also a 48-person theater on site available for rent for business or educational services.
Most services with Carabella providers are by appointment only.
